Ticket: SLP Outreach & Feedback Request

Goal

Establish a repeatable process for reaching out to Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to introduce the Aphasia Games project, share the founder’s story, and request feedback or suggestions for new games. The approach should be personal, low-pressure, and focused on building authentic connections.

Implementation

  • Identified SLPs who write about aphasia therapy (starting with Tracey L Callahan)
  • Created a CRM system using markdown files with frontmatter for each contact
  • Created a reusable, customizable email template for SLP outreach
  • Sent the first outreach email to Tracey L Callahan (2025-05-06)
  • Documented all artifacts and process for future outreach
  • All feedback and suggestions will be tracked in the CRM files

Subject: Your Aphasia Therapy Games Article + A Personal Project

Dear Tracey,

I hope this email finds you well. My name is [Your Name], and I came across your excellent article "Aphasia Therapy Can Be Fun — Games for Speech Therapy" while researching resources to help my mother, who experienced a stroke [timeframe] ago and has been working to recover from aphasia.

Your insights about incorporating games into therapy to promote socialization and improve quality of life really resonated with me. Inspired by my mother's journey, I've been developing simple, accessible web-based games specifically designed for people with aphasia. So far, I've created three games:

- Read the Word: A simple reading practice game with audio support
- Word Recognition: An auditory comprehension game for listening and selecting
- Object-Word Match: A game for matching object icons to written words

The entire project is free and focused on creating clean, straightforward interfaces that respect the dignity and intelligence of users while addressing their specific needs.

I would be incredibly grateful if you could take a few minutes to look at the site (currently at [website URL]) and share any thoughts or feedback you might have. Your expertise in speech therapy and experience with games for aphasia would be invaluable as I work to make these resources more helpful not just for my mom, but for everyone facing similar challenges.

If you have suggestions for additional games or features that might benefit users, I'd love to hear those as well.

Thank you for considering this, and for the important work you do supporting people with aphasia.

Warm regards,
[Your Name]
