Un Minuto
Learn Spanish with one minute of your city's news, every day.
You already check the local news. Un Minuto lets you do it in Spanish: three real stories from your city, read slowly and clearly, in about sixty seconds. It is not a course and it is not a newscast. It is one more daily touch point with Spanish, attached to something you were going to do anyway.
Why it works
- You understand more than you expect. Many researchers hold that we pick up a language from messages we can mostly follow, a little above our current level. Local news is that kind of message: you already know the streets, the schools and the teams, so context carries you through the words you don't know yet.
- One minute is a habit you keep. Short and daily beats long and occasional. A minute fits next to your coffee, your commute or the walk to the car.
- Real, not textbook. These are today's stories, so the vocabulary is the Spanish you will actually hear and read around you.
How each episode works
- Listen once. Catch what you can.
- Read along with the transcript. Key words are in bold, with a vocabulary table underneath.
- Learn the phrase of the day, then check yourself with a few quick questions.
- Stuck? Open the English translation.

Want your city or your level?
Tell us where you live and how much Spanish you have. We plan to add new cities and levels where enough people ask.
Scripts are original summaries of local reporting, written by an AI, and every episode is narrated by an AI voice. Episode pages link the original stories; support your local newsroom.
